To differentiate between ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) and ventricular tachycardia (V-tach), understanding the characteristic rhythms of each condition is crucial. V-fib appears chaotic with no organized rhythm, which is a hallmark of this arrhythmia. In V-fib, the heart's electrical activity becomes disordered, resulting in a pattern that lacks any identifiable waveform or organized sequence. This disorganization prevents the heart from effectively pumping blood.

In contrast, V-tach typically features a more organized, regular rhythm, where a series of rapid heartbeats occur, usually at a rate of more than 100 beats per minute. The electrical impulses may still be abnormally fast, but the rhythm is definitely more structured compared to V-fib.
